There is an increasing societal burden caused by disorders of the brain with few symptomatic treatment possibilities and no cures. Our vision is that by developing in vitro models of the human brain and maturing them through electrical stimulation, we can make a leap in recapitulating human brain (patho-) physiology. In order to kick-start this interdisciplinary project, we will organize a 1-day workshop with international experts and the local scientific community in the Rhine valley in Freiburg and Karlsruhe on 26 March 2026 (KIT Campus South, Präsidium Building 11.30, Engelbert-Arnold-Straße 2, 76131 Karlsruhe).
